The Cross of Tarlis deals with the struggle for power a mythical land. Sernon, master sorcerer teams up with Dannock-Shae high priest to the Urakians. Together they form a force to be reckoned with for the rival Dorrachians.

Pitched against this evil pair are Kaden a Dorrachian soldier prince. He is loyal to his ideal of righteousness and a fierce warrior. Teamed with Dorrachian is his brother Erik who is cursed to take the form of a white tiger. Other players in the quest to overcome the evil duo of Sernon and Dannock-Shae are Princess Tannith and her guardian Captain Etan Jarrisendel. The Fayrie Skylah is an immortal torn between the conventions of her world and that of mortals. Readers will enjoy her role in the book.

Julie A D’Arcy has penned a fantasy with a twist. Flowing amongst the battles for power is another struggle, that of the heart. Her characters find themselves faced with challenges to the wisdom of the day. They must decide whether they will follow the edicts of their elders or that of their own hearts.

The author has a vivid imagination and expresses it well in her writing.
