A young woman uses the
tricks and traits of the former movie stars to attract
love in this new romantic comedy. Don’t Quote Me is
Claire Montgomery’s story. It’s all about the movie
stars of the 1930s, 40s, 50s and 60s.
Ms Kramer is a natural
storyteller and weaves her story well. She
takes us through London's hottest fashion
photographer, Claire Montgomery's journey of
discovery. Claire is a fun-loving,
sex-loving flirt who as a twelve year old
stayed up half the night watching old
movies, and now lives her life through the
quotes of some movie greats - Audrey
Hepburn, Marlene Dietrich, Lana Turner -
their Quotable Quotes are all there in Don't
Quote Me. And Claire has other great loves -
vintage clothes and marvellous shoes. In
fact every major event in her life is she
remembers by the shoes she wore at the time.
Claire has some very strict rules by which
she lives and one of them is that she
believes in monogamy and therefore knows she
will never fall in love and marry. Variety
in her filled-to-the-brim "Little Hot Pink
Book" is her spice of life and settling down
with just one "love chunk" is not on the
cards. Her weeks are filled with Messrs
Monday through Sunday until her world starts
to fall apart about the same time as
Sebastian Gionis, one of ten finalists for
'Chic' Magazine's Man of the Year enters her
life.
This first offering by Ms Kramer is filled
with poignant moments plus lots of laughs
along the way. Not to mention the surprise
ending which gave me goosebumps. I can't
wait for the sequel to Don't Quote me.
