Cheryl says:
I write a lot of
non-fiction, but my first love is fiction.
Around ten years ago, when I had to give up my day-job due to a serious
medical condition, non-fiction writing was a way to keep my family
afloat. Going from a full-time job paying $40,000/year plus, to
virtually nothing was not easy.
I managed to secure a magazine column fairly quickly, and my non-fiction
writing career took over from there.
This year I decided to get back into fiction, and do what I love doing
best. I currently have two novels in progress.
One is contemporary romance, and the other romantic suspense.
My aim is to have the latter finished before Christmas 2011, then
complete the former.
"Women in jeopardy" stories are my favourites to write, and in most
cases the heroine is on the run from killers.
I love putting my ladies into horrific situations, then watch them
slowly crawl out to safety.

Cheryl Wright is an award-winning
Australian author.
She writes romantic suspense and contemporary
romance.
She's published in novels and short stories, as well
as magazines, non-fiction books, and anthologies.
Cheryl's novels are contemporary romance, and
romantic suspense.
With romantic suspense, she writes 'women in
jeopardy' stories, where the female protagonist
(heroine) is in deep trouble - often after
witnessing a murder - and is then on the run from
the killers.
Of course "Mr Right" will come along and try to save
the day, but Cheryl's heroines are strong and feisty
women - the tables may be turned and they'll need to
save the hero!
Cheryl currently has two novels in progress - a
contemporary romance and a romantic suspense. She
also has a completed novella.
In addition to writing, Cheryl is an experienced
editor and has worked for two publishers as romance
acquisitions editor. She presents workshops at
schools, libraries, and writer’s conferences, and
also teaches writing online when time permits.
